I want a marriage that opens like French doors with broken locks in the dead of winter.

I want a love like a first date in a sticky dive: Everyone around us 30 years older so we finish our single drink and drive home capping the evening with an awkward hug. None of this is what we’d expected.

I want sex like a SWAT team splintering the kitchen door to a crack den with a battering ram, slamming all inhabitants face down before they know what’s happening. It goes on for minutes before they realize there never were any drugs.

This is simply how we live.
